Ghosts Riders In The Sky

If you have been wondering why I haven't been as responsive the last few days... this is why. I've been working on this puppy for about a week now. Ever since I got into Red Dead Redemption, I've wanted to draw this picture... I just couldn't figure out how to incorporate all the ideas in one single picture. Then last weekend it came to me suddenly and I knew I couldn't ignore it. I know there are many mistakes in this picture, but I'll tell you what. I learned a lot from this drawing. For those of you who thought my horses weren't bad before, tell me, do you still think that now that I've given them riders. One day I'll learn proper horse and cow anatomy. I might as well learn perspective too while I'm at it.
However, despite it's many flaws I am proud of this picture.

Now about the actual picture. Many of you have heard the song Ghost Riders in the Sky by various people. I personally love Johnny Cash's version best. I feel that his voice captures the intensity of the situation. Thus, was the major inspiration for this picture. I wanted a strong start for Jack and Missy's story.
After the death of Edgar Ross, Jack finds himself trailing down the dark path his father was on. He joins up with an outlaw gang and helps them rustle up rancher's cattle in New Austin. Now, as you know, John -Jack's father- sacrificed a great deal to ensure that his son would have a better life then he did.
One night after a successful raid, Jack is sitting alone by the fire when the sky starts to change and he witnesses this event. Undead cattle being chased by the tormented souls of his father's old gang. While he's watching this, he hears the sound of another horse approaching. He turns his head and sees his father -as Zombie Marston- coming towards him. Zombie Marston essentially tells him to get his butt in gear or else he's getting one hell of an ass-whooping when they get 'home.'
And I don't know about you, but if my dead father came and visited me in the middle of the night like that, I'd listen to him. So, Jack packed up his things and left that very same night. That's when he stumbles into the town where Missy's at... and off goes their adventure!

Sorry for such a choppy explanation, I had to cut it down to the bare bones. Although I thank you for sticking with me through all of it. I had so much fun tying in things from Undead Nightmare into regular RDR. This was just the most logical way I could think to do it. I had the hardest time deciding who rode which horses. I originally was going to have John riding War, Dutch riding Death. However, since Death is the one horse you are sure to get by completing the game, and I thought it was more symbolic. War would have looked a bit more BAMF, though, I think. I don't know. I could go on, but I figure if you want to know more, you can just leave a comment. I love comments.

PS: One could also take this picture as John being pissed off that Jack stole his hat
I'd be rather peeved myself.
Also my hand hurts... and I should go to bed... SHOULD *cough*
