My MYO Nightmare Kitsumera got approved by petalfox this morning! It is actually a very interesting story with how I came up with his concept.
He's actually based on my grandpa, since my other Kitsumera is based on my Grandmother. As many of you know Arlene's story, but I'll share it again since it's relevant. My parents were in the military when I was young, and the often went away. So I would stay at my grandparents house. It was all well and good, but I would often get nightmares. I told my grandparents about dream catchers, because we had talked about them in school. My grandpa had no idea what I was talking about but made this metal contraption where you would turn valves to suck in the bad dreams and then in the morning he would take it outside where I could release the bad dreams outside. My grandmother was not fond of this contraption. A festival was in town that particular week and at one of the booths, they had these beautiful dream catchers. I pointed to them and told my grandmother that's what a dream catcher looked like. She let me pick out a dreamcatcher and bought it for me. That dream catcher was how Arlene came to be, and I based the metal contraption on this Kitsumera.
I made him a nightmare kitsumera becase... while my grandpa means well, he has been getting worse with his sickness, so I guess I was fighting some of my own demons when creating this guy... Anywho I hope you like him. His ref sheet isn't as nice as Arlene's as I don't have a month to make it >.<
